About Meadow School

Our School

Meadow School is an independent specialist setting where young people are supported to reconnect with learning in a calm, nurturing and highly personalised environment.

We work with learners who benefit from a more individualised approach, including those who may have mild learning difficulties, learning difficulties, physical disability, profound multiple learning difficulties, specific learning difficulties, complex learning difficulties, Attention Deficit Disorder, Autism Spectrum Condition and Aspergers Syndrome. Our focus is on understanding each young person as an individual and creating the right conditions for them to feel safe, settled and ready to learn.

Our curriculum is carefully designed to balance academic progress with personal development. Alongside core subjects such as English and maths, learners access a wider offer that encourages creativity, independence and confidence. Learning is supported through a strong therapeutic and pastoral framework, ensuring that emotional wellbeing sits at the centre of each learner’s journey.

At Meadow School, structure and consistency underpin everything we do. We provide a predictable and supportive environment, alongside a flexible, personalised curriculum that reflects each learner’s strengths, interests and aspirations. Our aim is to equip young people with the knowledge, resilience and practical skills they need for their next steps, whether that be further education, training or employment.

Relationships are fundamental to our approach. By building trust and taking time to truly understand each learner’s experiences, we are able to provide tailored support that enables them to make meaningful progress. Our staff team works collaboratively to create a culture of care, high expectations and encouragement.

We support learners to develop independence and make informed choices, helping them to understand both opportunities and consequences within a safe and respectful environment. Our approach is restorative and trauma-informed, recognising that behaviour is a form of communication and that positive change is built through consistency, empathy and strong relationships.

Meadow School is a place where learners are encouraged to re-engage with education at their own pace, developing confidence and a sense of belonging. We promote positive attitudes towards learning so that every young person feels valued and able to succeed.

We believe that progress is built through everyday moments. Our staff adopt a reflective, patient and understanding approach, always seeking to support, guide and inspire learners to achieve their potential.
